A subject you enjoyed studying this semester

 Hi everyone!

This semester I enjoyed the class called "Freudomarxism".

This is an elective class about the intellectual exercise to connect the Marx´s theory with the Freudian metapsychology on purpose the develop of Capitalism. It's sounds very ambitious, but in the period of Frankfurt school in Germany, different authors made this exercise.

Herbert Marcuse wrote in 1954 "Eros and civilization", he explore the historic position of Freudian concepts in a subversive way, relating with the dynamic's exploitation of the capitalism.

Basically, Marcuse said that the repression also come with the self-interest of the domineering groups. The repression is used for produce assets. If there are so many assets, why exist inequality?

For me it has been very interesting, because I think that the mental health is always related with the dominant economic and social system. And I have seen this a lot in my life and in my work experiences.
